After viewing the tutorials on creating wikispaces I was overwhelmed, yet excited. I immediately began creating my own. It was tedious but a lot of fun. Creativity really comes into play over here.
I chose to create a wiki based on writing- using descriptions to create menal images. This is done through the five senses: seeing, listening, touching, smelling, and tasting. Students have either a video or some kind of text (poem) to read/view and add their descriptions. While students are engaging in sample pieces of writing/viewing, students can take notes about some elements they enjoyed and can try to incorporate it into their own pieces.
Students can use the discussion tab to collaboratively discuss why different images are evoked by different people within the same piece of writing. They can also discuss the role of schema in this context.
Furthermore, students can share their work, and have their peers edit it for them, and make suggestions to improve their pieces. I would most probably use a separate wiki for each course so all the students' information within a group/course remains organized.
